What to expect

I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.
Psalm 119v45

What to expect from our service.
Obviously not all services are the same, but here is an idea of what to expect.

We start with a time of worship. Derryne is our worship director, but several people take turns to lead worship, each have their own style.

During worship there is often an opportunity given to come to the front to receive prayer for healing or some other need. We encourage you to take this opportunity.

We are a Pentecostal church. So expect the gifts of the spirit to be a part of the worship time. Expect to hear speaking in tongues or a prophecy. If you are not familiar with this kind of worship and you have any questions please feel free to talk to one of the pastors.

If you believe that God is speaking to you, but you are visiting this morning, we suggest that you talk to one of the pastors and pass the word on to them.

We celebrate communion to remember the life and death of our Lord Jesus Christ every week. We do this by taking bread and grape juice as tokens of his broken body and shed blood. A variety of different people lead this part of the service and the way in which we take communion can change from week to week. If you are serious about faith in God we encourage you to join with us.

There will often be a time of prayer as part of our service, this could be for an individual or a specific need. Prayer is always a priority.

About half way through the service young people and kids under 13 go out for a program of their own. We will send the youngsters out with a blessing, so it will be obvious when their program starts.

We take an offering by passing around a bag. This is for the work of the church. We have expenses and even pastors need to eat. You are under no compulsion to give, as a visitor please feel free to pass the bag by.

Pastor Ray will sometimes give a 5 minute key note speech, either on an issue facing the church, an aspect of our vision or one a part of what we believe. Often this time is used for public prayer. Sometimes this section is used by someone who has a testimony to share.

The sermon lasts for about 40 minutes. Pastor Ray preaches most of the time but we have several people (including Pastor Carolien who preach as well).

We expect all this to take about an hour and a half. The formal part of the service should finish by 11:30. The fellowship afterwards is still part of the service.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
John 8v36
